The NZ Hanoverian Society offers congratulations to the connections of
Henton Attorney General and Lizzie Brown, winners, CIC 3*
Underdiscussion and Donna Smith, winners CIC 2*
Adelphi and Jonathan Paget, winners CIC 1*
In the CIC 3* division, Lizzie Brown and Henton Attorney General (by Anamour out of Delphi by Distelfink, bred by Dave and Bridget Sutton of Henton Lodge Hanoverians) were lying second after the dressage, behind Alice Montgomery and Gordon. Both horses had clear cross country rounds, but Gordon took two rails in the showjumping, while Attorney General went clear, to finish in first place and become the 2009 One Day Event National Champion, receiving the prestigious Forest Gate Trophy. It was Attorney General's first start in a 3* competition.
Second place went to Gordon.
John Twomey and Highly Recommended were the third placegetters.
In the CIC2*, the Australian bred Hanoverian, Underdiscussion (Lanthan/In the Purple xx, bred by Cheryl O'Brien), ridden by Donna Smith, won convincingly on his dressage score and received the Waiteko Trophy, ahead of Transcend and Emily Butcher in second and Dannie Lodder with Waitangi Spy Sweeper in third place.
The CIC1* class had Britta Pederson's Adelphi (Anamour/Crown Lease xx, bred by Kathy Scott of Tandarra Stud), ridden by Jonathan Paget in second position after the dressage, with their score of 45.3. With clear crosscountry and showjumping rounds, Adelphi went on to win the class, but as an advanced grade horse was not eligible to receive the Ferdale salver, which was presented instead to second placed Donna Smith and Clifton Eagle.
Emily Butcher and My Shout took third place.
Henton Attorney General and Adelphi both descend from the same thoroughbred mare, Isla Park xx (Crown Lease xx/Cantus xx).
