Hanoverian mare wins Horse of the Year title

We warmly congratulate Australian rider, Peter McMahon, whose lovely grey mare, the fourteen year old KS Genoa, carried him to a well deserved victory for the Bell Tea Olympic Cup for NZ Showjumper of the Year at the Kelt Capital Horse of the year Show 2009, held in March.

Incorrectly reported as a Holsteiner in some publications, the mare is in fact a Hanoverian, by Graf Landau out of a thoroughbred mare and bred in Australia at Kinnordy stud.

The course designed by Leopoldo Palacios was of truly international standard. KS Genoa handled it with apparent ease, displaying the tremendous scope and technique that made the Hanoverian G-line a legend back in the 70s and 80s. She was the only horse to have double clear rounds.
